After searching high and low, asking in photography forums and clubs, to no avail,  I have finally found a local spot in Durham, NC to photograph a decent sunset.

 Well techinically, it is in Granville County which is just north of Durham County. This location is accessible by I-85 north. In fact if you take the first exit off I-85 after crossing Falls Lake, make a right and take the 2nd right you can't miss it. There's a link to a Google map below.

Like all sunsets, the sun's location is not constant. This sunset is available only at a certain time of the year. This sunset was taken on December 12, 2015.
